FAITH, FRIENDS AND FUN!
Hi! Welcome to the new Church Page. If you've never been in the Church building, it's usually open from about 9 o'clock till dusk. Use it as a place of peace, prayer and reflection away from the rush. It's there for everyone. Most Sundays we meet at 11 a.m. but on the fourth Sunday we have G.O.S.H. at 10.30. Bet you've always wondered what that is! It stands for God's Own Special Hour and it's a free and easy session of songs, prayers and all kinds of other things. There's something for everyone but it's great for kids especially.
WHO ARE WE?
We're people of all ages and lots of different backgrounds. We meet every week to pray, worship and chat over coffee. Anyone can join if they want to make new friends, think about the meaning of life, get away from the phone, unburden your worries to God or just have a good sing.
WHAT'S GOING ON?
Our BENEFICE PRAYER MINISTRY TEAM is now in being. We offer to pray regularly for anyone who needs God's help. Give us your prayer requests through the box in church, via e-mail to geoffandchris@waitrose.com or to one of the Team members (Chris and Geoff Wheeler, 720074, Tony and Jan Gardener, 720227, Sue Collins, 720605, Evelyn Bone, 750519, Chris and Diana Poore, 720579, Audrey Palmer, 750436 or Geoff Hewitt 720070). You can be quite anonymous and all prayer requests are strictly (and we mean strictly) confidential.
We now have a new editor for the PARISH NEWS. Paul Bessant of Christian Malford will be editing the March edition and will be contacting all community organisations and paulbessant@msn.com is his email link
The WHIST DRIVE in the Village Hall on Saturday 13 January was an outstanding success. There were 16 tables and over £200 was raised as everyone had a great time. See you next year!
The BENEFICE AWAY DAY is taking place earlier this year - on Saturday 24 February 10 a.m. till 1 p.m. We have decided to move the venue to Seagry Village Hall - just outside the Benefice - and to restrict it to the morning; we felt many people were reluctant to make it an all-day event. It's a chance to reflect quietly and also be stimulated with some input and discussion on this year's Lent subject - Patterns of Spirituality.
Ever wanted to belong a Union? The MOTHERS' UNION meets on the second Tuesday of most months at 2.15 p.m. at Appletrees, High Street. Younger members are specially welcome and even men can join! On 13 February, Geoff Hewitt will be talking about his years as an Industrial Chaplain.
The Revd Roly Bain - ROLY THE CLOWN - will be leading our Joint Benefice Service in Christian Malford on 29 April at 10.30 a.m. Seriously, thought provoking, spiritual experiences will be taking place!!
The PCC meets next on 5 February at Sheila's at 7.45 for a prompt 8 p.m. start.
